Driven by a desire to channel her passions for environmental issues and a better world into a career, Eileen joined Su Hardy’s fledgling business Mooncup in early 2004. As a founding team member, she turned her hand to most of the things a small business needed to do. She eventually settled into a role as International Trade Manager for which her Modern Languages degree and extensive travel experience across five continents came in handy. Today, the Mooncup is available in over 50 countries around the world and Mooncup Ltd is now an employee owned business with an ever-growing, dedicated team. Eileen has been a director of Mooncup Ltd since the company’s formal move into employee ownership in 2014.
How Eileen embraces the unknown
Embracing the unknown is at the heart of the Mooncup story. While the Mooncup has more recently claimed its rightful place as the third sanitary product option in the feminine hygiene aisle, this was not always the case. The early years of the business saw us working hard to promote an unconventional product in a world where periods were yet to become clickbait & still taboo. Today as an employee-owned business, we have changed the way we get things done in the workplace.
